Rev. Mike Cosner

Teaching Elder/ Pastor

Mike and his wife Chrissy joined the Oak River family in June 2021, moving from Charlotte, NC, after living and serving in various other churches and ministries for over 20 years. They are originally from Baltimore. Mike received his Masters Degree from RTS Charlotte/Virtual in August 2012, and was ordained in the PCA in May 2013, before heading off to serve as an overseas missionary with MTW (Mission the the World).

Mike and Chrissy have been married for 25 years, and have three grown children, two kids-in-law, and one grandson: their son Keenan married to MC who live in Atlanta, their daughter Risse married to Adam with their son Micah who live in Baltimore, and their youngest daughter Cadyn who is currently a student at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago.

Mike is more than excited to be pastoring Oak River, and faithfully preaching the Word each Sunday. His heart is to see our church community grow, specifically with families and children, and to reach out into the surrounding community with the love of Jesus.

Craig Hedges
Ruling Elder

Craig and Rebecca moved to SW Florida in 2014 after retiring from work as an ENT doctor in Sioux Falls, SD. He and his wife Rebecca had lived there for over 20 years, raising their two children, Emily and Michael. They return to the north for the summer, staying in the Okoboji area, in NW Iowa. In addition to serving as elder at Oak River Church, Craig is active on the worship music team playing guitar and singing (some), and with the men’s Bible study. For over 25 years he has been active in short-term medical mission trips to Viet Nam, Cuba, Nepal, Africa and Central America, teaching fellow ENT doctors about modern evaluation and treatment of patients. Craig enjoys boating, reading, Bible study, music and walking the shore in Ft Myers Beach, with Rebecca and their dog, Piper.

David Garrett
Ruling Elder

Married in 1980 and graduating from Covenant College in 1982, David and Lilly lived and worked internationally (Puerto Rico, Mexico, Spain) through the early 1990’s, before residing in Dallas Texas for 15 years, where they raised their two children. Having visited the Marco Island area many times, where their parents lived, they moved to Bonita Springs in 2014 where David manages a business management-consulting firm. They enjoy the beautiful gulf area and spending time chasing their 4 granddaughters, who live in Atlanta and N.Y.C. They are thankful for the opportunity to invest their gifts in the ORC ministry.

Gary Anderson
Deacon

Gary and Jane met at their 25th HS reunion and they wed two years later. An amazing story! After Gary retired from his career as a wastewater treatment plant operator with the city of Superior, WI, He and Jane shocked themselves and moved full time to Bonita Springs. No more blizzards and below zero temps! Gary appreciates the opportunity to serve the church family and the greater community through Oak River mercy ministries. Jane volunteers as an advocate for the Pregnancy Resource Center. There she is able to use her counseling background to positively reach women who are at a most vulnerable time in their lives. They are both excited about what God has in store for Oak River as the church seeks to bring glory to God.
